About Hajj
- Make your intention and rely on Allah for he will surely facilitate your trip and take away your fears and concerns
- Call Br. Mohamed Hachemi and start a conversation, you'll be glad you did.
- Start planning early, get your paperwork in order, then begin reading some materials about Hajj requirements and WRITE a list of your questions.
- Visit your doctor and have a frank conversation about any health issues or concerns. Consider a second pair of glasses, if you require a prescription.
- Find a "buddy" who is going to Hajj and build a friendship, share your thoughts and ideas.
- Get in the mood and get excited. Keep the main thing in focus. You are going to perform a duty. Everything else is secondary.
- Modify your expectations about services, traffic, delays, etc.. you'll be among millions and take your time to enjoy the journey.
- Change your sense of "personal space". You'll spend plenty of time in/with lots of people.
- Take a long some personal comfort items...cold medicine, a 3-day dose of antibiotics, Vaseline/petroleum Jelly, wet wipes-these will be handy to wipe your hands, face, or after using the toilet, and many other purposes, a battery powered shaver, and your cell phone.
- Pack light. Many personal care items are available and cheap in Saudi Arabia.
- Start walking and get your body/legs in shape. Walk barefooted if possible and build some tolerance.

- Say Salam to strangers
- Shake someone's hand and ask about their health
- Buy tea for someone
- Offer to get someone's groceries
- Sit with a Hajj group from another country and ask about Islam in their village
- Carry someone's bags for them
- Guide someone ill to the infirmary
- Shun vain talk
- Recite talbiyah loudly, encouraging others
- On the days of Eid, walk through the tents reciting talbiyah loudly reminding others
- Gather stones for people
- Offer to throw on behalf of unable Hajjis
- Guide people to the Jamarat
- Lower your gaze
- Remind people of the lives of the Sahaabah
- Read Qur'an with the Tafseer
- Do the authentic Dhikr of the morning and evening
- Make dua during your Sajdah
- Stand to the side of a gate and offer people water/tea as they leave
- Give major attention to shy people in your group
- Remind people of patience, why they came here, and the example of our Ulumaa' in Hajj
- Explain a Hajj Khutbah you may have heard to those around you
- Explain the importance of purifying ones actions for the sake of Allah
- Phone relatives (from Makkah) on Eid day
- Make dua for forgotten friends (and the author of this list)
- Don't allow Muslims to fight during Hajj
- Help people find a place to sleep
- Remember - during the heat - the unending torment of hellfire
- Say 'Laa ilaaha illa Allah, wahdahu laa sharika lah, lahul Mulk wa lahul hamd, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadeer' 100x
- Say the dua of entering the market place when you go there
- Give charity to those who sell meager things (sandals/eggs)
- Attend the Halaqahs that are given in Mina
- Stay for the 13th of Dhul Hijjah
- Remind people to go home as better Muslims
- Forgive people that wrong you
- Talk to 10 different people from 10 different countries
- Compliment someone sincerely
- Visit the hospital and thank Allah for all that he has given you
- Take young Muslims and invite them to sit with the elders. Make them the center of attention.
- Give a tafseer class after Salah / ask someone knowledgeable
- (For men) On the days of Eid, offer perfume to those around you
- Ask about the health of senior women in your group. Make sure they are attended to.
- Focus hard on helping those immediately near you
- Take people to the slaughter house and help them / Or assist them in purchasing their slaughter coupons
- Remember specific blessings Allah has bestowed upon you and say Alhamdulillah
- Pray to Allah using his 99 most beautiful names (al Asmaa' al Husna)
- Use a Miswak
- Fill your pockets with candies and give to the children that you meet
- Always intend reward from Allah for everything you go through during Hajj

The Responsibility of Light Star Travel , 140 Little Falls street, Falls Church, VA 22046, acts as agents and protector for the passengers' rights in making arrangements for the airlines, hotels, buses, or any service in connection with the tour and assumes no liability whatsoever for injury, damage, loss, luggage, accidents, delay irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason or defect, though the acts of GOD, dangerous incidents in the air, sea, land, fire, breakdown of machinery or equipment, acts of government or other authorities de jure or de facto, wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, or from any loss or damage resulting from improper passports, visas, or other documents. Light Star Travel will accept no responsibilities for loss or additional expenses due to delay or changes in schedule or other causes. Light Star Travel shall not be liable or responsible for any inconvenience, loss, damage or injury arising in connection with such service. Light Star Travel shall not be responsible for the failure to follow instructions, including but not limited to check-in and delay, loss of luggage or personal belongings (Medicine). It is the responsibility of the airline to determine exactly what procedure will be followed. The policy chosen by that carrier shall be based on their procedure and shall not be the responsibility of Light Star Travel and its affiliates. They will also not be responsible for any person (s) missing and part of the program due to his negligence or delay or absenteeism for any time during the tour and will not be responsible for any additional expenses for the participant to rejoin the tour. Moreover, no charges or upgrades in the program chosen will be the honored after departure as well as no refund will be given for any services rendered not utilized.
RESERVATION / DEPOSITS: A deposit of $1000.00 is required for reservation. Full payment is required 60 days prior to departure.
CANCELLATION: All cancellations must be in writing. Cancellation received 60 days or more prior to departure date are subject to a $200 per person administrative charge and those received less than 45 days prior departure are subject to $500 per person administrative charge. In addition to above addition penalties and/or charges imposed by hotel/airline/bus companies together with services or hotel space may be imposed.
SACRIFICE: It is not included. It can be arranged upon request.

Common Mistakes During Hajj
In Aqeedah (the Muslim’s Belief)
- Many Pilgrims when they travel to Madinah they pray to the graves.
- They make Dua’ to Rasul Allah (Sal Allahu alayhi wa Sallam). This could not only ruin their Hajj, it could nullify their Islam.
- Do not rub graves for Barakah.
